Altitude & Weather Mastery

At 2,260m above sea level, the Maletsunyane Gorge is as unpredictable as it is beautiful. Follow these tips to stay comfortable at Africa’s "Highest & Coolest" festival.

Pack for Four Seasons

Don't let the summer dates fool you. Temperatures can drop drastically at night. Layers are your best friend—think thermal wear for the evening and light cotton for the day.

Hydrate & Adjust

The air is thinner and drier up here. Drink twice as much water as usual to avoid altitude headaches, and take it slow during your first few hours at the site.

The Mountain Sun

UV rays are significantly stronger at high altitudes. High-SPF sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, and polarized sunglasses are essential festival gear.
